    Composite moulding

    ORATECH puts its expertise at your service in order to accompany you in the development of the composite molding of your parts and in the realization of prototype parts and small series, from the technical-economic study to the transfer of technologies within your structure. Thanks to its experience, ORATECH is ready to realize your parts in composite moulding of big dimensions.

    Our means

    We have the means for the realization of prototypes in composite materials (injection means, ovens, autoclaves, press, etc.). ORATECH proposes in collaboration with GEBE2 the automation of the means of injections and press.

    Our methods and processes for the manufacture and shaping of composite mouldings :

    • Consolidation: Curing of thermoplastic composites (= polymerization for thermosets)
    • Draping : Laying of fibers (dry or pre-impregnated with resin) in the form of fabric. Superimposition of fabrics in different orientations
    • Stamping : Implementation of a part from a flat plate. Shaping of the plate in a press with “punch/die” tooling
    • Hot Forming/Bending/Preforming : Forming of dry or pre-preg fabrics on a heated tooling (punch/die)
    • Infusion/LRI: Liquid Resin Infusion: Vacuum suction of resin to impregnate a stack of dry fabrics, all in a vacuum environment
    • Vacuum molding : Shaping of a composite part (fibers + resin) by draping or lamination on a shaped tool, then application of a waterproof film and vacuum pulling during polymerization
    • Preforming : Shaping of dry fabrics on a tool (punches / die) for resin impregnation by RTM or LRI
    • RTM : Resin Transfer Moulding : Injection of resin into a dry fiber preform placed in a closed mold
    • Laminating : Laying down of dry fibers and impregnation ply by ply with a resin

    F10x from Dassault

    Global industrialization project of a business aircraft with innovative technologies signed Dassault.

    ORATECH worked on the study and the realization of a composite moulding tooling allowing the manufacturing of the F10X upper hull in composite

    Dimension of the parts : 35 x 5 x 4 m

    This is the first project allowing the ORATECH 44 and 59 sites to work with A2I.

    Heat exchangers

    ORATECH worked in close collaboration with its customer over a period of 3 years to produce heat exchangers for electronic sensors. The customer realized the design of the part and ORATECH intervened from the development of the manufacturing process of the exchangers until the realization of a pre-series of 40 parts.

    ORATECH operated in several steps:

    Sailing performance parts

    Since 2017, we have been accompanying Emmanuel Dodé in his quest for a Class-A world title. The Class-A is a boat that flies. As such, lightness is a determining factor in the ability of the boat and its skipper to rise above the water and reach spectacular speeds – close to 25/30 knots.

    Our engineering, metal and composite manufacturing and innovation capabilities have led to the creation of :

    1. Capelage parts (3D titanium printing and ultrasonic shot blasting to improve fatigue resistance) allowing to divide by 2 the total weight of the standing rigging
    2. Carbon mast support (weight reduction and limitation of the association of non compatible materials)

    Antenna – Anti-drone system

    ORATECH made its design office, methods and composite workshop available for this project.

    The parts and composite structure of the antenna were developed, manufactured and assembled on our sites.
